It’s only words

I agree with Jesuit priest Jim Martin: “Words are free. It’s how you use them that may cost you.” – Power of Words book

It’s Only Words by Bee Gees in Las Vegas, 1997

In his Power of Words book, the Reverend J Martin summed up the positivity of words, thus:

Words are the reason that someone lives a life of abundance.

Words can open doorways.

Words can break down invisible boundaries.

Words can breathe new life.

Words can fill a person full of happiness.

Words can build up a person’s confidence (ad infinitum). People can easily list down all the negativity in words. Why and how come?

People do not value their words much. Worse, people tend to misuse their words. This allows the power of their words to work against them.

I remember the Bee Gees song: “It’s only words. But words are all I have, to take your heart away” (my favorite line).
